Anyone who is a Portugal tax resident needs to file a Portuguese tax return. Non-Portugal tax residents who earned income in Portugal may also be required to file taxes (e.g. if you earned rental income from a property in Portugal).
Portuguese tax residents who do not earn any income, but hold foreign bank accounts need to file a tax return. If you only need to report your foreign bank accounts, you can sign up for our Lite package.

June 30 is the deadline for submitting the previous year’s tax return. For example, June 30 2024 was the deadline for the 2023 tax year, June 30 2023 was the deadline for the 2022 tax year, and so on. We can assist with the late filing of taxes for up to the 2020 tax year.
